From college and personal projects to client projects.
The designer in me was calling before I even knew it.
Back in secondary school, my top and favourite subjects were construction studies, DCG and English. I enjoyed those subjects because I'm good at making things with my hands, I enjoy solving real-world problems and I love to know and help people.
After graduating from secondary school, I studied Product Design at IT Carlow for a year. That was when I fell in love with designing.
After getting a taste for the fundamentals of design, I decided to move back and study at Dublin. The reason why I chose Creative Computing in IADT was because of their alluring design modules. Yes, I learned how to code front-end & back-end but what I was craving was the design thinking, design methodologies, user research and essentially anything to do with design. Luckily, I came to the right place.
My passion for design did nothing but grow. I am now more determined, more excited and more hungry to become a UI and/or UX designer and researcher.
A designer with the passion, admiration and curiosity for design. Dedicated to use the designer’s mentality to solve problems and conceptualize innovative ideas.
This includes creativity, design thinking, conceptualization, problem solving, interaction & user-centred research as well as working with a team using Agile. Projects have been focused on the users’ needs, design process, visual hierarchy, consistency, accessibility, usability, typography, visual grammar and narrative design.
This includes Figma, Framer, InVision, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, draw.io and many other similar applications. These are used to iterate wireframes, Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi prototypes, mockups, concepts, ERDs and UML diagrams as well as post processing photographs and videos.
This includes HTML5, CSS, SCSS and JavaScript as well as frameworks and component libraries such as React, Vue, Bootstrap, Material UI, Atlaskit by Atlassian and IBM Carbon.
Note that these progress bars does not represent my full capability for each skill. It is only used to visually summarise my highest and lowest abilities. There will always be something new to learn and there will always be existing skills to improve on.
